Swiss designer Jean-Pierre Edmond offers his own version of a crown guard called Lock-ED. The Lock-ED concept guarantees accuracy in selecting dates, days of the week, time of day and other settings. Lock-ED concept also increases water resistance.
“My goal was to develop a product that was classic in design while offering something unique and interesting to give the watch buyer something entirely new,” said Edmond, the company’s founder. “With automatic watches, owners must make adjustments frequently in comparison to quartz watches. Anything that can save the owner time without sacrificing design is an attractive feature.” Edmond, a graduate of the Paris Academy of Design, began his career as an automobile designer but soon found that watch design was his true passion.
JP Edmund worked as project manager for interior design especially for dashboard and controls for Renault, Peugeot and FIAT.
JP Edmund also worked exterior design for a research partnership between Alfa Romeo and Renault. A small utility vehicle which is able to be transformed completely with changeable bodywork was created by this project. He is especially proud of his Renault design which has the potential to redefine the utility vehicle segment. The vehicle could be fitted with many different modules with many possibilities like a small camper, a module with a crane, a pickup, a taxi, an open car for sea side or land and so on, this design was planned to work with a system of rental modules at your car dealership,
Since then JP Edmund has developed various projects such as shoes, toys, sport gears etc.... and now fine timepieces.
He launched JP Edmond in 2007, working around the clock for more than a year to bring his signature timepieces to market.
The watches in the JP Edmond line come in four style families offering timeless craftsmanship and range in appearance from sporty to elegant. All include ETA automatic movement, thick sapphire crystal and hypoallergenic stainless steel construction and of course, the Lock-ED concept. JP Edmond are priced below Swiss timepieces of similar design and quality but none of the other Swiss watches offer the Lock-ED concept.
