One of the most iconic names and color scheme in sportscar racing history is honored by one of the most respected names in watchmaking

The Gulf Racing B.R.M V12-44 and V6-44 are the Ultimate tribute to a legendary brand in sportscar racing’s history. From the all conquering Porsche 917 to the current partnership with Aston-Martin Racing Gulf Oil has been the most recognizable and appreciated color scheme at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Gulf Oil adorned some of the greatest cars to have competed at that famed event such as Porsche, The Ford GT40, Mirage, McLaren and continues to this day with Aston-Martin.

B.R.M has succeeded in bringing those famous colors onto an exceptional example of the art of fine watchmaking. Based on their outstanding V-12 Chronograph series and the V6 Automatics, B.R.M’s design focuses on the mechanicals of race cars not just the look. Each of their watches contains some element of race car engine appeal. The throwback design reminds us of the time when racecars were literally bolted together. The highly polished screws that cover most surfaces remind us of hand craftsmanship and lasting strength. The large crown proudly carries the Gulf logo and the pushers are shaped to resemble engine pistons, complete with the valves.

Horizontal “cooling” fins are sculpted into the 44 mm case which is bolted together using lugs continues with the racecar constructed look. The hands have holes to imitate those used in racecar construction to lighten the chassis.

For their V12-44 Series B.R.M uses the state of the art ETA Valjoux 7753 "Valgranes," movement which provides time, date, and 12 hour chronograph functions, These are well integrated with a tri-compax subdial array. For the V6-44 version a ETA 2824/2 movement modified by B.R.M is used.

Another attention getter is the leather strap. The Gulf Racing theme continues with the sky blue and orange stitching.
