STEFAN JOHANSSON VAXJO
MARK VIIIC COLLECTION
The harmonious design of the handsome Mark VIII C suggests the elegant synchronicity between driver, machine and moment that occurs now and then in international endurance racing. It’s a phenomenon Stefan knows well and an emotive ingredient in a watch created and produced by a man who has experienced victory at the world’s most famous endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The spirit of endurance racing and the Le Mans 24 itself is embodied in the automatic chronograph’s hour register sub-dial which is engineered to count backwards, “counting down” 24 hours – the duration of this storied long distance competition. The function anchors a colorful dial that combines conventional time and date measurement with stopwatch precision.
Large military-style hour indexes, a date indicator and the chronograph’s beveled 5/10 second stopwatch scale are highly visible under a convex anti-glare coated sapphire crystal. Luminescent coatings on the green figures and skeletonized hands assure easy legibility in any light condition. An engraved “exhibition” case-back offers a view of the timepiece’s sophisticated movement.
A 47 mm fine brushed and polished, rugged stainless steel case attaches securely to the wrist via two optional straps - a silicon-free rubber strap constructed to comfortably withstand high temperature conditions or an exotic leather strap in Python or Bony Crocodile (incorporating PVC lining to avoid the excess wear and staining which occur with a traditional leather lining).
Crafted by a driver with thousands of endurance racing miles under his belt, the Mark VIII C brings the romance of racing around the clock together with the art of horology. Produced in a limited edition, the Mark VIII F, like all Stefan Johansson watches, speaks the exciting language of time and racing.
